Dry Needling

What is Dry Needling?

Dry needling is a modality performed by a certified practitioner using monofilament (solid not hollow) needles to stimulate tissues and promote healing to specific structures throughout the body.

It is accompanied by electric stimulation to create and adaptation in the central nervous system needed to reduce pain while creating a mechanical response to bring about a healing cascade in the tissue.

Often times these points are associate with muscle tissue, but there is a lot of evidence to support stimulating of tendons, ligaments, and even bony structures to improve outcomes.
